How does the site work?
The Mums Club is a place for people to advertise their items for sale and for people to search though items advertised.
Registering
Do I need to register?
You only need to register to place an item for sale or to request to receive daily listings of items advertised.
How do I register?
Go to sign up page and enter your details.
Will my details be given to third parties?
WE WILL NOT PASS ON YOUR DETAILS TO ANY OTHER COMPANY.
Only the phone number you give when you register will appear on your advert.
How do I change my personal information?
Log in and goto My account and select update profile.
How do I unsubscribe?
E-mail www.unsubscribe@themumsclub.co.uk with your name in the header.
How do we make our money?
We don't. The site is completely free at the moment during our launch phase..
How do I pay?
Once we start to charge a small annual free to place adverts, you will be notified and it is up to you if you wish to continue to use the site. If you do, then payment for annual registration will be taken via a secure payment method operated via Protx. You can pay by any form of card. THE SITE WILL ALWAYS REMAIN FREE TO SEARCH ITEMS FOR SALE.
Posting an Advert
How do I post an advert?
Once registered or logged in, on the “My Account” page go to “add an item”.
What personal information will be disclosed on the display advert?
It will show your advert with your name, location and day time phone number. Your e-mail address will not be shown.
How long will the advert remain displayed?
Your advert will remain listed for 30 days and will then self delete. If you sell the items before 30 days, then we ask that you delete items yourself to keep the site current. (Once the site is up and running we will review how long items will remain listed.)
How do I amend an advert?
Log in and goto “My account” and then “view my items” and then select the edit button next to the item you wish to change.
How do I delete an advert?
Log in and goto “My account” and then “view my items” and then select the tick box next to the item you wish to delete and then hit the delete button shown at the bottom of the page.
What adverts can be submitted?
You can submit as many adverts as you wish, provided that the items are relevant, good quality, clean and legally yours to sell. For more information see our terms and conditions.
The site is aimed at individuals and not companies.
How will people contact me to buy something?
They can call you on the day time telephone number you supply with your advert or they can use a link to e-mail you (but they will not know what your e-mail address is unless you reply directly to any e-mail they send you).
How do I ensure my safety?
We suggest that you arrange to meet at a public place if possible. If you decide to meet elsewhere we recommend that you do not go alone.
Searching and Buying
How do I search for an item?
From the “Home page” you can search for a specific item via the quick search function or from the categories list on the left hand side of the page.
How do I arrange to buy something?
If you see something you are interested in, click on the item for more information. Included here is the phone number and the “e-mail seller” button. Choose your preferred method to contact them.
How do I pay for the items I buy?
That is up to the seller and yourself to agree upon.

What do I do if I buy something faulty?
Buyer beware! It is up to you to make sure that you are happy with the quality of the goods before you agree to buy them. We cannot be held responsible for the quality of any items listed on our site. For more information see our terms and conditions.
Daily Listings
What is a daily listing?
This facility allows you to tell themumsclub what you are looking for within a specified radius and to ask us to alert you when something is placed for sale matching your criteria.
How do I subscribe to daily email listings?
Log in and goto “My Account” and select “daily listing alert”. Select your search criteria and press register for daily alerts.
How do I unsubscribe to daily email listings?
Log in and goto “My account” and goto “daily listing alert” and select unsubscribe.
Posting Tips
- Make sure you choose the most appropriate category & postcode
- Put as much description in header as possible
- Give more detailed description under description section
- Add a photo if possible
Picture size
To speed up the upload process to the site we recommend that you reduce the size of the picture file prior to uploading them to your advert.
- If your digital photo software allows you to change the resolution in order to reduce the size of your photo files we recommend that you do so before uploading.
- If you have an application like Adobe Photoshop you can use this.
- File size can be reduced using Microsoft Outlook. Attach the picture file to an email and select the attachment options from the attachment tool bar, then select picture options and then select small from the drop down box and send the e-mail to yourself. The arriving picture file attachment will be small enough to upload.
Safety Tips
We have developed The Mums Club intending everyone to use it with integrity, however we would like to point out some basic safety tips to bear in mind.
- We suggest that you use common sense in your dealings with strangers. They are strangers and should be treated as such.
- Do arrange to meet at a public place if possible. If you decide to meet elsewhere (including a sellers house) we recommend that you do not go alone.
- Don’t invite strangers into your home when you are alone or leave them unattended in your house.
- Don’t mention which school your children go to.
- Do try to avoid posting pictures with your children in them.
